Clear Vision, Healthy Eyes
Protecting your vision begins with routine eye exams. Our comprehensive eye exams assess your eyes for vision problems such as binocular vision dysfunction, refractive errors like nearsightedness, and eye conditions such as dry eye or eye disease.
By including each of these aspects in your routine eye exam, we can catch eye conditions before they cause permanent damage, or identify the culprit of other symptoms such as headaches, eye strain, and visual fatigue.
Our thorough approach also creates a baseline for your vision and health that we can use to monitor any future changes that occur. Take care of your eyes today and book your eye exam with us.

When Do I Need an Eye Exam?
Just as every person is different, so are their eye care needs. Your optometrist will recommend how often you need an eye exam depending on your ocular health and any other conditions. Your recommendation may vary over time.
We typically recommend yearly eye exams for most patients. Anyone who has existing eye conditions, a family history of eye disease, wears contact lenses, or is undergoing treatment for an eye condition, such as dry eye or vision therapy, might be asked to book more frequent exams.
What Happens During an Eye Exam?
During your eye exam, you’ll be welcomed by our front desk staff. They’ll check you in for your appointment and let your technician know you’ve arrived. The optometric technician will guide you through the pre-testing process, which includes taking photos of the inside of your eye, testing your eye pressure, and checking your visual field (peripheral vision).
After your pre-test, you’ll meet with your optometrist. They’ll ask you some questions to better understand any vision concerns you may have, as well as your lifestyle, employment, hobbies, and other typical activities you engage in. This information will help guide their recommendations.
They will review the results of your pre-test exam, then look inside your eye, assess your eye movements and function, screen for dry eye, and measure your visual acuity (how clearly your eyes see at different distances).
After your exam, your optometrist will let you know if they recommend corrective eyewear such as glasses or contact lenses, or if your current prescription needs to be updated. They will introduce you to one of our opticians who will help you select your new glasses or help you book a contact lens exam and fitting if you’d prefer.
Note: We do not dilate all patients. If we need to dilate your eyes, we’ll let you know. The process involves special eye drops that make your pupils larger and allow us to get a better look inside your eyes. The drops may make you more sensitive to light for a few hours, so we recommend bringing sunglasses to your appointment and having someone drive you home.
Eye Conditions We Assess For
During your eye exam, we’ll assess for various eye conditions that might affect your daily life. We’ll screen for dry eye, which can cause uncomfortable symptoms like irritation, inflammation, and a gritty, scratchy feeling in your eyes.
We’ll also assess for digital eye strain and ask about your daily habits that may contribute to this issue. Especially if you work on a computer, you may find special eyewear like computer glasses and blue light filters to be helpful.
During your visual acuity test, we’ll also check for presbyopia. This is the gradual loss of your eyes’ ability to focus on near objects, and is a normal part of aging. Multifocal glasses or contacts can help with presbyopia.
And of course, we’ll assess your eyes for any indication of eye diseases, such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, keratoconus, and diabetic eye disease.
Book Your Eye Exam Today
Even if your vision seems fine, it’s important to have regular eye exams. Symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, light sensitivity, anxiety, motion sickness, balance problems, and reading difficulties can be caused by vision problems. It’s important to have a comprehensive eye exam regularly to assess your vision and make sure your eyewear is serving you well.
Additionally, many eye diseases emerge without noticeable symptoms. An eye exam is the only way to catch these problems before they cause irreversible changes to your vision.
Prioritize your sight and well-being by booking a comprehensive eye exam today.
