About Our Practice

Dr. Ann Voss is a neuro-developmental, therapeutic optometrist who has been serving the larger Houston area since 1989. Her passion and dedication to helping people with neurological, developmental, or functional vision challenges shines through with all her patients and office team. She graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin in Biology and the University of Houston, College of Optometry. In addition, she is a Fellow of the Optometric Vision Development and Rehabilitation Association and a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry.

As founder and managing partner of Bellaire Family Eye Care and the Vision Learning Center, Dr. Voss has assembled a top-notch team of outstanding optometrists, vision therapists, opticians, clinical contact lens specialists, and administrative service staff all committed to excellent care and service.

In her work with pediatrics and special needs patients, Dr. Voss seeks to find the best solutions to enhance life-long strong vision and optimal visual skills needed for learning and motor development. She teams up with her vision therapists and associated colleagues in neurology, ophthalmology, education, and psychology to collaterally serve her patient’s needs.

In addition, Dr. Voss is frequently asked to present to rehabilitation clinics, educational centers, and professional groups regarding developmental and rehabilitation treatment plans for visual disorders. She is an adjunct professor of the University of Houston, College of Optometry, teaching 4th year students in the clinical setting.

As a Diplomate with the American Board of Optometry, Dr. Voss is board certified to manage all eye care conditions. In addition to utilizing the best technology available in prescribing glasses and contact lenses, Dr. Voss seeks to help patients with preserving vision and preventing vision loss from glaucoma, diabetes, and macular degeneration.

Above all, Dr. Voss loves her patients, her staff and being able to make a difference each day with each patient. Outside of work, she loves family time the most, physical activities of all kinds including running, being at the lake, and enjoying nature.

Dr. Marcia Moore attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology with High Honors and as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society. She continued her studies at the University of Houston College of Optometry, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. In 2014, Dr. Moore obtained her Fellowship from the College of Optometry in Vision Development.

Dr. Moore has a passion for working with children and adults with neurological or developmental vision challenges. She listens carefully to her patients and works with them to find the right approach to their personal visual concerns. When treating patients, especially with more complex cases, Dr. Moore relies on the support of other professionals in a team approach. She works closely with occupational and physical therapists, reading specialists, neurologists, ophthalmologists, neuro-ophthalmologists, psychologists, teachers, pediatricians, and ABA specialists to help her patients through an all-encompassing approach.

Dr. Moore is a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry, affirming her training and knowledge in the treatment of eye diseases and conditions, including glaucoma, diabetic eye diseases, strabismus, and amblyopia. She aims to assist her patients in achieving visual systems that function optimally for daily life, whether that includes success at school, comfort while working on the computer, or elite sports performance.

When she’s not at the practice, Dr. Moore enjoys going on adventure trips to national parks with her husband and family. She also likes spending time with her plethora of pets, including her backyard chickens. 

Dr. Ashley Tucker joined our practice in the summer of 2011. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Cell Science and went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree summa cum laude from the University of Houston College of Optometry.

Dr. Tucker is the Director of The Contact Lens Institute of Houston, a specialty division of Bellaire Family Eye Care dedicated to providing advanced contact lens solutions for patients with complex visual needs. While she has particular expertise in specialty contact lenses, Dr. Tucker provides comprehensive, full-scope eye care to patients of all ages.

She completed a Cornea and Contact Lens Residency at the University of Houston College of Optometry, where she received extensive training in the diagnosis and management of corneal disease and in complex contact lens fittings, including patients with keratoconus, corneal transplants, and post–refractive surgery needs. Dr. Tucker has a strong passion for scleral contact lenses and routinely receives referrals from optometrists and ophthalmologists for specialty lens management. She has earned Fellowship status with the Scleral Lens Education Society, recognizing her advanced expertise in scleral lens fitting. In addition, she serves as the Society’s Public Education Chair, moderating monthly educational webinars focused on scleral lens fitting and troubleshooting.

Dr. Tucker is also deeply committed to myopia management. She is certified in orthokeratology for both children and adults and has extensive clinical experience in evidence-based myopia control strategies. She lectures nationally and internationally on myopia management and, in 2024, was named a Global Ambassador for Myopia Management by the World Council of Optometry. She also serves as Medical Co-Editor for Review of Myopia Management, overseeing and contributing to peer-reviewed educational content that supports evidence-based myopia management in clinical practice.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Tucker serves as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Houston College of Optometry, where she teaches the Ophthalmic Optics laboratories.

Dr. Tucker is a member of the Speaker’s Bureau for the specialty division of Bausch + Lomb, serves on the Professional Advancement consultant team for CooperVision, is a consultant for Topcon, and is a lecturer for the STAPLE (Soft Toric and Presbyopic Lens Experience) program. She regularly provides continuing education on specialty contact lenses and myopia management.

Originally from Louisiana, Dr. Tucker relocated to Florida during high school and now resides in Texas with her family. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband, daughter, and son.

Dr. Aamena Kazmi graduated Summa Cum Laude, with membership in the Honors College and the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and minors in Business Administration and Medicine & Society. She continued her education at the University of Houston College of Optometry, and graduated Summa Cum Laude with multiple Letters of Excellence for her clinical work and several honors including, Excellence in Cornea & Contact Lens and membership in Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society.

Dr. Kazmi is a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry. While she provides full-scope optometric care and loves helping patients of all ages find the best solutions for their visual and eye health needs, she has an interest in the treatment and management of dry eye disease. During her training, Dr. Kazmi completed a specialty rotation at the University Eye Institute Dry Eye Center where she became proficient in clinical based research and therapeutic treatments of tear film disorders. Dr. Kazmi has obtained certifications for  the diagnosis and management of corneal disease and complex/specialty contact lens fittings. She is proficient in hybrid and scleral contact lenses and regularly receives referrals from optometrists and ophthalmologists for specialty lens management.

Additionally, Dr. Kazmi is certified to fit orthokeratology specialty contact lenses in children and adults. She has a deep passion for myopia management and extensive clinical background in evidence-based myopia control strategies to reduce the progression of nearsightedness in pediatric and adolescent patients. She lectures nationally on myopia management, regularly authors journal articles on the topic, and has served as a consultant for CooperVision and Johnson & Johnson. She is also an American Optometric Association Myopia Change Agent for the Myopia Collective – a position that enables her to lead the profession in delivering myopia control efforts to patients and advocating for long-term community and policy change that facilitates the mission of the Collective.

In her free time, Dr. Kazmi enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, exploring Houston, and traveling.

Dr. Karen Ebling graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin. She continued her studies at the University of Houston College of Optometry, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Doctor of Optometry.

For Dr. Ebling, eye care runs in the family. For most of her career, she practiced alongside her dad, Dr. Richard Ebling, where she learned to serve patients with care, seek the right path for clear and healthy outcomes, and really connect with her patients. Dr. Ebling focuses on the eye health and well-being of all her patients, especially those with cataracts, glaucoma, dry eye, or those needing a great eyewear or contact lens fit.

When she’s not seeing patients, Dr. Ebling enjoys spending time with her husband and three wonderful teenagers, who keep life rather busy!

Dr. Steven Fate is a board certified therapeutic optometrist who graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Houston College of Optometry.

His clinical rotations included the diagnostic and management of various eye conditions including diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, retinal dystrophies, and inherited degenerative diseases. He obtained extensive vision therapy training, in which he worked with the pediatric population to aid them in enhancing their visual skills, such as overcoming convergence insufficiency.

In addition, he has experience with the co-management of post-surgical procedures such as cataract surgery, glaucoma filtration surgery, and laser vision correction surgery.

Dr. Fate strives to provide the best possible care for his patients, tailored to their individual needs. He is proficient in the full-scope of optometry with special interest in neuro-optometry, myopia control, and retinal diseases.

He currently resides in Richmond and enjoys spending time with his family and friends.

Natesha is a Certified Vision Therapist through the Optometric Vision Development & Rehabilitation Association (OVDRA). She has also earned her Associate of Applied Science degree in Child Development and, more recently, pursued her Level 1 Sports Vision Certification, which she completed in 2023. Natesha brings more than 15 years of experience in the eye care and vision therapy industry to our team.

Natesha values making meaningful connections with her patients. She feels privileged to work in a profession that helps patients to restore some comfort and functionality to their vision. As a vision therapist, Natesha prioritizes being reliable, conscientious, and trustworthy for her patients. She takes time to understand her patients and their lives, struggles, and motivations to inform her treatment plans.

When she’s not at the clinic, you’ll likely find Natesha walking or jogging the trails of Memorial Park, Buffalo Bayou, or Meyer Park. She has also recently found an interest in weight lifting and attends regular classes to hone her skills. No matter where she is, she values the time spent with her beautiful family most of all.

Sarah earned her Associate’s Degree in Biology at San Jacinto College in 2013, and has been working in the eye care industry since 2010. She is caring, friendly, and hard-working, but she enjoys bringing some fun and lightheartedness to the clinic as well. Sarah truly values being part of a team that helps people see better and improves their quality of life.

When she’s not at the clinic, Sarah enjoys traveling, concerts, sporting events, and spending quality time with her husband and family.

Yenis joined our front desk team in 2022 with previous experience as a medical assistant. She brings energy and positivity wherever she goes, and thrives on supporting her team and patients.

Yenis finds the most fulfilling part of her career in the eye care industry is the impact she can make in facilitating a smooth patient experience. She values her patients’ time and energy and strives to make sure each interaction, from booking an appointment to check-in and check-out, is an easy and enjoyable experience.

In her free time, Yenis enjoys going for runs or to pilates and trying out new coffee shops around Houston.

Ken joined our team in 2024 and brings over 25 years of experience in the eye care industry with him. He earned an Associate of Applied Science degree from Ferris State University, his Bachelor of Science degree from Wayne State University, and his Master of Business Administration from the University of New Haven.

Since joining Bellaire Family Eye Care, Ken has truly enjoyed working with a great team that puts patients first. He brings strategic thinking and a strong desire to help his coworkers succeed, prioritizing the team and the patient experience.

When he’s not at the clinic, Ken enjoys spoiling his granddaughter, watching sports, especially basketball and hockey, and spending time at the beach.

Emmanuel is the skilled IT professional behind the scenes at Vision Learning Center. With a knack for troubleshooting and a passion for technology, Emmanuel ensures that our IT systems run smoothly. His expertise and dedication to keeping our technology up-to-date play a crucial role in supporting our team as we provide eye care services to improve lives.

Emmanuel earned his Master’s degree in Computer Science from Salem University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He also holds a Bachelor’s of Finance and an Associate’s degree in Education from Kyambogo University.

When he’s not at the office, Emmanuel enjoys spending time with family and close friends, being active, fixing things (like cars), and watching movies with popcorn.

Ashley is a Certified Medical Biller who joined our team in 2012. She is responsible for medical billing and coding, and can assist you if you have any questions regarding insurance coverage or reimbursement. Ashley has 17 years of experience in the eye care industry and enjoys solving problems, mastering complex situations, and helping patients through her role.

When Ashley is not at the clinic, you’ll likely find her at the beach, practicing self-care, or capturing moments through photography. She finds the ocean helps her recharge and stay grounded, self-care keeps her balanced and focused, and photography allows her to express her creative side while appreciating the finer details in life.

Melanie has over 20 years of experience in the eye care industry and has been part of the Bellaire Family Eye Care team for 11 years. She started as a frame stylist before advancing to the role of an optician. Now, she serves as the optical floor manager, frame buyer, and team lead. 

As a creative, detail-oriented person, frame styling is a natural fit for Melanie. She enjoys helping patients select frames that match their personality, lifestyle, and visual needs while boosting their confidence. As a team lead, Melanie takes pride in her leadership, organization, and mentoring skills as she helps pass her knowledge and experience to the rest of her team.

When she’s not at the clinic, Melanie enjoys spending time with family and friends, expressing creativity, and keeping up with fashion and style trends. She also loves to travel, especially to explore fashion across Europe, and has a passion for adopting and rescuing elderly or special-needs pets.
